From tangy to sweet, and everything in between, here are some great Chinese restaurants in Metro Detroit. 

SHANGRI-LA

Shangri-La has offered authentic Cantonese food since opening over a decade ago. The menu is extensive, with many noodle soup, fried rice, and vegetarian options available. Owner Choldada Chan has brought a bit of her heritage into her business, also offering a few Thai-inspired curry dishes. Shangri-La also has dim sum at both the Midtown and West Bloomfield locations and offers a selection of sushi in Midtown.

LC’S ASIAN KITCHEN

LC’s Asian Kitchen is noted for its reliable and delicious Chinese takeout, offering a variety of traditional dishes​​. Open for more than 8 years, this restaurant has been dedicated to quality food and sincere service. Some of the most popular menu items include pan-fried dumplings, ma po tofu, and moo shu pork with pancake wraps. To finish off your dish, you pick your sauce, ranging from Tokyo Sweet Teriyaki to Saigon Spring Garlic or Thai Spicy Red Curry, and more. Vera Asian also offers 2 dozen different types of sushi rolls to choose from. 

LIM’S CHINESE RESTAURANT

Lim’s Chinese Restaurant is a family-owned spot that offers Chinese and Thai cuisine. You can expect classic dishes like cashew chicken or Szechuan beef, but there are also some house specialties available. For example, the Seafood War Barr includes lobster, shrimp, and scallops with mushrooms and Chinese veggies with rice. The Volcano Beef is sliced beef with mushroom, pineapple, and Chinese vegetables in a hot and spicy sauce. Lim’s Chinese Restaurant also has Asian Fusion dishes and ramen to try.
